English:

I always make a link between my Art and my Spirit in a psychological way. My life is like a running ball always trying to avoid chaos. This is a manipulated digital drawing turned into a mixed media painting made in 2010. I got inspired to make this painting when I visited a very small town called Tapalpa, Jalisco where I saw some balls hanging from a ceiling. The weather was very cold and I was at a very important change in my life at that moment. I used acrylics, pastels and inks on canvas. Check my Geometric artwork at www.absolutearts.com/blancaruthcasanova and facebook.com at Art-Explained/Arte Explicado or facebook.com at Blanca Ruth Casanova. If you are interested in making a donation to support this blog, you can do it by Paypal at arte_mexico@hotmail.com

SCARS.

This painting won an Honour Mention at the 5th Competition of the Arts Magazine in London, England.

The prize I won was to be included in the International exhibition in Berlin, Germany in January 2007.

This painting was stolen from a gallery in Denver, Colorado, USA. And was recovered two years later.

It is an abstract woman lying down on her side looking back on how life has been during dificult sad times and watching her emotional scars already closed.

This painting belongs to the “Ruptures” series where I play and experiment with rough and soft textures, torn fabrics and drippings.

It is an acrylic, enamel, fabric, sylicone, marble powder and textures on canvas with a classic composition.

On the right side in the middle of the painting, there is a scar used also as a symbol of the name of the painting.

CICATRICES.

COMING OUT FROM DARKNESS.

This is one of the winner paintings of the “Premio della Critica” by the gallerists and art critic at the Estense Castle in Ferrara, Italy. It is an acrylic with enamels, fabric, sylicone and textures on canvas.

This painting is a representation of the various steps the one has to go through in order to come out from periods od darkness to the Light.

It belongs to the Series “Ruptures”, meaning the pychological rupture with the past. The characteristic of this series is the use of torn textiles as a symbol to show both, the physical and emotional ruptures. It has a classic composition in red brick tones symbolising the debris of Darkness and the golden paint marks the moments of Light.

There is a broken square in the middle representing that even in the periods of great luminosity, Darkness may interfere when you do not expect it, but the objective is always to look for the Light.

Today, I am introducing some of my paintings that have won international awards.

SUN AND SEA.

This is one of the awarded paintings which won the “Premio della Critica” given by the gallerists and art critic at the Estense Castle in Ferrara, Italy. Lucrecia Borgia lived in this castle.

This painting is made with acrylics, enamels, textiles and textures on canvas in primary colors mainly yellow.

This is the representation of Hapiness when I feel relaxed and unstressed close to the sea. It is a representation of how I play with primary colors and forms. When vacationing in the Balearic Islands of Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca in the Mediterranean Sea, it seems daylight in the middle of the night. People is out there partying as if it was midday, and I am in the middle of that joy without knowing if it is night or day, meeting new people, things and unusual and strange habits, enjoying the different landscapes.

The red tones, specially the red textile threads mean the blood flowing through my veins making me feel alive. The yellows are the different tones of the sun and the blue tones mean the sea. There are rough and soft textures showing the differences between my own roots and all these new things I am living. On the inferior right side, there is a texture which gives the idea of prints made by fingers trying to grasp the nice things in order to forget the pain.

SOL Y MAR.

ENGLISH:

Hi, everyone.

As some of my friends, family members and gallerists have asked me to do so, I decided to let everybody know about the hidden meaning of some of my paintings.

By doing this, you will enjoy with me how I do my paintings and what I want to express with each one of them.

I have got ten awards by now, and this has made some people to get interested in my work, which I appreciate a lot!!!

I was given the Special Award from the Societé Nationale des Beaux Arts at the Louvre Museum Salon last december in Paris, France.

I will be posting different paintings. So, keep in touch!!!

Now I am presenting to you my painting called “CAVE”.

“CAVE” is an acrilic, enamel, marble powder, sand fabric and textures on canvas in mettalic tones.

We all need a spiritual personal inner space or otside, where we open our mind and make reflections about ourselves, at the same time that we have to be in the real world and at daylight.

http://www.BlancaRuthCasanova.com

————————————————————————————————————————————————-

ESPAÑOL:

Hola a Todos,

Voy a estar poniendo aquí diferentes pinturas.

I will be posting different paintings. So, keep in touch!!!

Today, I will show you “MAYAN WOMAN”, an acrylic, enamel, rope, plastic and fabric with textures on canvas, which is an abstract autoportrait. It is made in the cinabrium red color of the Mayan pyramids, referring to my father´s Mayan ancestors. It is a classic composition with an upside-down female triangle representing me in the middle of a world of men. There are three circles linked to me meaning my children, one abroad, one next to me and the dead one always in my mind. In the center, there is an eye always on alert. The free doodles in black are a kind of physical unique gestual signature. Each of the rectangles express a stage in my life where there have been sorrows, happy moments, ups and downs.

ESPAÑOL:

Hola a Todos,

Voy a estar poniendo aquí diferentes pinturas.
